Shafter Gladiator Youth football was established to provide the youth of Shafter/Buttonwillow a forum to learn the fundamentals of tackle football.  We are proud to field four teams, giving the opportunity for over 115 players to participate in one of the largest youth football leagues in California.  In doing so the players learn sportsmanship, dedication, and develop pride for their team and community.

We are an all-volunteer, non-profit organization.  We rely on participation fees and the generosity of our sponsors and members of the community for support in our efforts.

The cost of outfitting four football teams is expensive.  We have our helmets certified bi-annually. The helmets that do not pass safety standards have to be discarded and replaced.  Shoulder pads must be replaced.  The practice uniforms for the Varsity and JV are “hand me downs” given to us by Shafter High over 5 years ago.  As any parent whose child played for us in the last three years can attest, these uniforms needed replacing 4 years ago.  We need to replace practice equipment i.e. blocking pads, scrimmage vests etc.  We need to purchase a blocking sled so that our lineman can establish fundamentals and perfect blocking techniques.

We understand that there are many requests for donations and we do not make this request lightly.  Youth sports are a vital part of any community.  We have 115 players that are exposed to positive adult role models 3 to 4 nights a week.  There are 115 young people involved in an organized activity 4 nights a week and not out “running the streets.”  On Saturdays, our stands are filled with parents, relatives and friends of our players instilling a real community spirit

Any donation would be appreciated.  In order for us to properly recognize our sponsors, we have set up the following tiers for donations.

• Season pass to all Gladiator games

• Name displayed on Team Banner, displayed at all games

• Name or Business card displayed on the Shafter Gladiators Website with link to your company's site
